  • Second interview conducted at your home
  • References will be checked
  • An orientation session will be given
  • You will receive match information with a potential mentee
  • A meeting involving both you and the mentee (sometimes with their family involved) will be arranged
  • Match will be finalized with ongoing support from our end
Safety Disclaimer

We require all of our Mentor applicants to undergo a background check at the police station, including the vulnerable sector, in order to have their application considered. Additionally, youth ages 13-19 are required to sign up for the program with a parent/guardian who will oversee their mentoring activities online and offline. When we propose mentoring matches, the youth and their family can assess suitability and have a choice to either accept the Mentor, or continue searching for a better fit.

If both parties agree to proceed with the application, the Mentor will meet with the Mentee and their family. On top of this, all of our Mentors undergo an orientation and several training sessions with Legacy Grandparents during the application stage.

We are committed and focused to keep youth and volunteers safe by creating and maintaining secure structures and environment in the youth mentoring program.

Wisdom + Youth = LEGACY
